Watch out, English speaker
English speakers often say look like with a direct translation like look as or seem like plus a noun, but Spanish parecer works differently: you say Parecen jugadores (They seem players), not Parecen como jugadores. Also, unlike English seem, parecer changes with the subject: parezco, pareces, parece, parecemos, parecéis, parecen. So They look like basketball players is Parecen jugadores de baloncesto, with no como.
In English, publish and post are often used interchangeably for social media, but Spanish publicar is the standard verb for posting a video or article online. A common mistake is to use postear, which is understood but less natural in formal or news contexts. Remember: Mamdani publica un vídeo en Instagram means he posts a video, not necessarily a printed publication.
English throw and shoot are different verbs, but Spanish lanzar covers both throwing an object and taking a shot in sports. Learners may wrongly use tirar for throw away or shoot, but tirar often means to throw away or to pull. In this context, lanzan bolas de papel means they throw paper balls, and intentar tiros means to attempt shots, not to throw away.
