Watch out, English speaker
Spanish 'mientras que' introduces a full contrasting clause and must be followed by a conjugated verb, while English 'while' can often be followed by a participle or noun phrase. For example, 'mientras que el taller mejoró' translates as 'while the workshop improved,' but English also allows 'while improving'—Spanish does not allow 'mientras que mejorando.' Also, 'frente a' is a preposition followed by a noun or number, meaning 'compared to' or 'against,' not 'in front of' in this context. English speakers might wrongly translate 'frente a 2025' as 'in front of 2025' instead of 'compared to 2025.'
Spanish 'situarse en' literally means 'to place oneself in,' but in statistics it means 'to stand at' or 'to reach a level.' English speakers often mistakenly use 'situate' in English, which sounds unnatural; the correct translation is 'stood at' or 'was.' For example, 'la rentabilidad se situó en el 1,69%' means 'profitability stood at 1.69%,' not 'profitability situated itself in 1.69%.' Also, note that 'situarse' is reflexive, so you must use 'se' with the verb.
Spanish 'al + infinitive' expresses 'upon doing something' or 'when doing something,' but English requires a full clause with 'when' or 'as' plus a subject and verb. For instance, 'al pasar del 15,7% al 15,8%' means 'when it went from 15.7% to 15.8%,' not 'to the passing from...' English speakers might try to translate 'al' as 'to the' and produce incorrect phrases like 'to the passing.' Remember that 'al' here is a contraction of 'a + el' and functions as a time marker.
