Watch out, English speaker

Spanish uses 'estar + gerundio' for ongoing actions, similar to English 'be + -ing'. However, English often prefers simple present for current states, while Spanish insists on the progressive: 'La IA nos está generando' (AI is generating for us) vs. 'AI generates for us'. Also, the gerund is never used as a noun or after prepositions in Spanish, unlike English 'I like reading' (Me gusta leer, not *Me gusta leyendo). English speakers might expect 'estar + gerundio' to map perfectly to 'be + -ing', but Spanish uses it less frequently for future or habitual actions. For example, 'I'm working tomorrow' is 'Trabajo mañana' (simple present), not 'Estoy trabajando mañana'. In the example 'La IA nos está generando más necesidad de empleo', the progressive emphasizes the ongoing process, which English might render as 'AI is generating' or simply 'AI generates' depending on context.
