Watch out, English speaker

Spanish uses ir a + infinitive for near-future plans, just like English 'be going to.' But English speakers often forget that ir must be conjugated to match the subject, so 'el acuerdo va a ayudar' is correct, not 'el acuerdo ir a ayudar.' Also, unlike English, Spanish does not contract 'going to' into 'gonna' in writing. Spanish 'seguridad' can mean both 'security' and 'safety,' while English distinguishes them. In this context, it refers to national security, not physical safety. English speakers might also confuse 'seguridad' with 'seguro' (sure/insurance), so pay attention to the noun ending -dad. Spanish 'Ártico' is a proper noun and is capitalized, unlike English 'Arctic' which is also capitalized but sometimes lowercase in informal use. Also, Spanish uses the definite article 'el' before it: 'el Ártico,' while English says 'the Arctic.' Don't forget the accent mark on Ártico. Spanish 'estabilidad' is a false friend? Not really, but English speakers might think it means 'stability' in a physical sense only. In political contexts, it means political stability. Also, note the ending -dad, which often corresponds to English -ty. Spanish 'cooperación' is similar to English 'cooperation,' but the Spanish word is often used in international relations contexts. English speakers might mistakenly use 'cooperation' for everyday help, but in Spanish, 'cooperación' is more formal and often refers to between countries or organizations. Spanish 'región' is a cognate, but English speakers might pronounce it with an English accent. Also, in Spanish, it's feminine: 'la región,' not 'el región.' Be careful with the accent on the ó. Spanish 'mejorar' means 'to improve' or 'to make better.' English speakers might confuse it with 'mejor' (better) and try to use it as an adjective. Remember, 'mejorar' is a verb, so it needs to be conjugated: 'mejora,' 'mejorar,' etc. Spanish 'detalle' means 'detail,' but English speakers might think it's related to 'retail' because of the word 'detail' in English. Actually, 'detalle' is a cognate. Just remember it's masculine: 'el detalle.'
